At a plenary session, the State Duma adopted in the first reading a package of bills with amendments to administrative and criminal legislation, according to which defaulters of alimony will not be able to evade responsibility when they transfer insignificant amounts, writes RIA Novosti.

Amendments are made to article 5.35.1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation 'Non-payment of funds for the maintenance of children or disabled parents'.

So, part 1 of this article, which refers to the responsibility for non-payment by a parent without good reason of funds for the maintenance of minors or disabled children, it was proposed to add: after the word “ funds '' & ndash; words “ in the amount established in accordance with a court decision or a notarized agreement. '' Similar changes, specifying the amount of payments, are also envisaged for part 2 of the same article, which concerns the punishment of adult able-bodied children for non-payment of funds for the maintenance of their disabled parents.

Article 157 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation 'Non-payment of funds for the maintenance of children or disabled parents' the authors suggested adding a similar clarification. In particular, criminal punishment will follow for non-payment of funds for the maintenance of children or disabled parents “ in the amount established in accordance with a court decision or a notarized agreement. '' The article presupposes criminal liability for repeated non-payment of alimony, including correctional, forced labor or imprisonment for up to one year.

Also added to the article is a provision stating that a defaulter is exempted from criminal liability if he fully repaid the debt on payment of funds “ in the manner determined by the legislation of the Russian Federation. ''

In addition, it is reported that the lower chamber approved a project to improve the mechanism for the payment of alimony, that is, to prosecute persons who did not pay without good reason, in violation of a court decision or a notarized agreement, funds in the amount established in accordance with a court decision or a notarized agreement for the maintenance of minor children or disabled children , who have reached the age of eighteen, disabled parents, the explanatory note says.

Earlier, the Government of the Russian Federation approved an updated list of incomes from which alimony for the maintenance of minors will be collected.

The FSSP also told how much Russians cannot go abroad because of debts.
