The developers of WhatsApp (owned by Meta, which is banned in Russia and recognized as an extremist organization) are testing in beta the ability to hide the user's online status and information about his last visit. This is reported by the portal WABetainfo.

How will the new option work?

The new feature will be added to the messenger settings. The user will need to select the “Account” section, go to “Privacy”. After that, the inscription “Last visit and online” should appear, the site says.

Thus, each user will be able to independently choose who will see his activity on the network. Moreover, the online status can be hidden not only from all contacts, but also from unwanted interlocutors.

In what version will the new functionality be introduced?

According to the portal, the new option will appear in the updated version of the messenger 2.22.20. True, the functionality is still developed for devices with the Android operating system.

It is not yet known when the updated version will appear.
